Join us for a morning of fishing as the MDWFP and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sardis Lake Field Office host a Fishing Rodeo at the Cypress Point Recreation Area of Sardis Lake. Whether you are planning for a day or a week; or if you are into the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating or camping, you are going to discover a wide selection of activity options. Sardis Lake stretches over 98,000 acres through Panola, Lafayette and Marshall counties in beautiful Northwest Mississippi. Come explore and discover for yourself our forest, lakes and recreational activities.

Participants will need to bring their own fishing pole and catfish bait. Please hang around for a free lunch following the event provided by First Security Bank of Batesville.

Items to bring: a fishing pole and catfish bait, water bottle, sun protection, BUG SPRAY. Also, a cooler and/or stringer for your fish.

Camps are for kids age 5-13 during Summer Break. This year, the camps will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The first session will be May 28th - May 31st, the second session will be June 8th - June 28th, and the third session will be July 8th - July 31st. The camp is full of activities with field trips, swimming, arts and crafts, table top games and much more. We will have lunch at the Oxford Intermediate School. If you have a picky eater you may let them bring lunch. Breakfast is provided if your child is here by 7:45am and lunch is provided as well. Each kid is required to bring two snacks a day. We do a lot of running activities, so please wear suitable clothing, as well as tennis shoes. You will receive an email with protocols and monthly calendars a week before camp starts.

(If you aren't able to register your child online, we are offering an additional opportunity starting Monday, March 25th at the Coach Howell Activity Center at starting 8 a.m.)

The Oxford Park Commission sponsors a youth basketball program for kids age 7– 15 as of 9/1/2023. Registration for this program will come to a close on May 5. The 2024 Youth Basketball Summer Season Games will be played during the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday), early June - late July, while practices begin in May. Fee for the program is $45. There will be additional fees for service fee and credit card fee.

The objective of the class will be to introduce participants to the sport of wrestling and improve in a fun and exciting environment. Improve the individual's agility, strength, and self-confidence. Wrestling is a great way for your child to build character and learn self-defense. This program strives to build champions on and off the mat.

We will be focusing on folk-style wrestling.

Dancing with a twist is a cardio-dance workout that uses music and choreographed steps to form a fitness party atmosphere. People of all ages, shapes, and sizes are encouraged to attend this class. You do not have to be a great dancer to attend just be ready to “shake what your mama gave you”.

Practice mindful breathing and slow-moving gentle yoga postures for flexibility, strength, balance, and mental focus. Class can be adapted for all levels of experience and ability.
