2025 Aqua Cardio Power - June

This medium-to-high intensity workout will focus on helping you build cardiovascular fitness while incorporating total body strength, endurance, & balance.   The instructor will incorporate a variety of moderate/high intensity exercises interspersed with lower intensity exercises.  This class will use foam weights and noodles.  Participants should be comfortable with the water – while it is a shallow water class, it is very dynamic and you will be constantly moving and may sometimes be asked to bicycle across the pool on a noodle, run a lap, swim a lap with buoyant weights, etc. – please let the instructor know before class if you need any modifications. 
 
Michelle is a Certified Aqua Instructor.  In 2024 she taught an evening Aqua Cardio Power class at the Oxford Swim Club.  She taught water aerobics privately in 2021-2022.  In 2019 she taught RebelWell Aquatics Pop-Ups and subbed for OPC LLO Water Aerobics.  Prior to moving to Oxford, Michelle taught water aerobics in Texas for 7 years, including Aqua Attack (cardio-focused), Hydro Power (strength-focused), and Hydro Flow (focused on core, balance, & flexibility).  Michelle is also an Occupational Therapist and Certified Mat Pilates Instructor.

This class is part of Rebel Body Fitness' Sports Performance Developmental Program: Xcelerating Performance Training (XPT). It covers the foundations of Strength, Mobility, Flexibility, Core, Balance and Injury Prevention

2025 Spikeball Tournament- Summer

This year, we will host a Spikeball tournament that will consist of co-ed teams ages 16 and older. Games will be played with teams of 2v2 with a maximum of 4 team members. Each game will consist of 3 sets of 21, must win by 2 points. Hard cap at 25.

Games will be played on July 10th from 5:30 PM- Until(depending on the number of teams registered).

2025 Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Youth Mental Health First Aid training is designed to help coaches, staff, administrators, and even parents recognize the warning signs that a young person may need extra support. There are many ways anyone can assist, even if they are not licensed professionals. Best of all, this training is completely free of charge. It is open to coaches, parents, and community members who want to learn more about youth mental health.

The training will take place on July 14th and July 16th, running from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on both days. It will be conducted by the University of Mississippi professors virtually via Zoom.

Attendees will need to participate in both training sessions in order to complete the final online exam for certification.

2025 LLO Adaptive Chair Yoga July-September

Adaptive Chair Yoga
In Adaptive Chair Yoga we structure the class to fit your needs with the use of props that can include a chair, blocks, straps, or bolsters. We will cover all the basic yoga poses with an emphasis on breath and alignment to work on strength and mobility without stress or strain. The class can be done exclusively sitting on a chair, or you can use the chair for support in standing or kneeling poses. You choose the level of adaptation that is right for you.

2025 Baseball Youth - Fall

OPC's Youth Fall Baseball is offered for kids 6-15. Participant's age is determined by 4/30 of the following year. The 2025 Season games will be played on Wednesday evenings, mid September to end of October/early November- practices begin in late August. 

This is a transitional program where the players will 'Move Up' to the age division they will play in the following Spring.

Cost is $45 per player. (This does not include the service fee & credit card convenience fee.)

Special requests for team placement are limited only to family members. Special circumstances related to coaching may be accommodated based on direct need. Each team will have a head coach, and that head coach can request one assistant coach for kid pitch (9 and older)/ two assistant coaches for coach pitch (6 to 8 year-olds) if needed, prior to the season.

2025 Volleyball Youth - Fall

Our Fall Volleyball program is offered for players ages 9-14 years old as of 9/1 of the current year. The 2025 FALL Season Games will be played only on THURSDAY evenings.

The season will run from August 28th to November 6th, on Thursday evenings at the Coach Howell Center or Oxford Activity Center.

The Observation Clinic is expected to occur on Tuesday, July 15th at the Oxford Activity Center, Court 4. Times for it are TBD right now. The clinic is not a tryout, but it does help our staff form the teams and make sure they are balanced as best as they can be for the season.

Practices are expected to begin in late July. Fee for the program is $60. There will be an additional $4.04 fee for service fee and credit card fee.

2025 Flag Football Youth- Fall

OPC's Fall Youth Flag Football is offered for kids 6-14. 

The 2025 Fall season games will be played on Thursday evenings. Practices are expected to start in late July or early August. Games will begin in late August and finish in late October or early November. We will have a Flag Football Saturday on an Ole Miss Football away game weekend.

2025 Soccer Youth-Fall

This registration is for 2025 Youth Fall Soccer. Our expected season start date is Aug. 25th (will be played on Mondays & Tuesdays) and will end around late November. OPC's youth recreation soccer season is for kids ages born in years 2021-2010.

Leagues will be "birth year based." That is to say players ages will be determined based on the year they were born in. (An example of how a birth year works is 2026-8U=2018.) This season is the beginning of our new athletic calendar, and the first of our two soccer seasons.

2025 LLO Aerobic Exercise July-September

This Senior Aerobics class is a fun, low-impact workout tailored for older adults to improve heart health, coordination, and overall fitness. It typically includes:
Rhythmic aerobic movements set to music
Gentle cardio exercises to raise the heart rate
Light strength and balance training
Stretching for flexibility and injury prevention
The class is instructor-led, easy to follow, and often done standing or seated, with modifications available for all fitness levels. It's a safe and social way for seniors to stay active and energized.

2025 Fencing - Summer

Fencing is the Olympic sport of sword-fighting that teaches discipline, dexterity, and endurance. You use footwork and handwork to score touches on your opponent with the tip of your blade. There are three weapons in fencing: the Foil, Epee and Sabre. This session will include more bouting and blade drills.

We are offering Family Pool memberships for the 2025 Summer Pool Season. There membership would allow the community to avoid paying a daily entry fee for themselves and a total of 4 members of their family.

*******These memberships are non-transferable and are only eligible to the immediate family members living in the same household listed on the membership*****

Family memberships are only eligible for daily use of the pool during the open swim hours. Memberships are not eligible to be used towards pool rentals at the OPC City Pool. 2025 Individual Pool Membership

This individual pool membership allows for 1 entry into the Oxford City Pool for the entire 2025 summer during general swim hours, 7 days a week. Cost is $75 per individual, plus a $2 fee that goes to our website provider Sports Connect. Payments through credit or debit adds an extra 3.4 percent to the total.

2025 Barton Outfitters Youth Fishing Camp - Summer

Barton Outfitters Youth Summer Fishing Camp is an immersive, instructive and practical fishing experience where youth ages 6-16 will learn about fishing ecology, fish biology, angling rules/ethics/regulations, fish identification, knot tying, basic rigging, casting, species targeting, lure making, trot line and gross fishing, and cleaning and cooking your catch. Participants will have the opportunity to fish each day for a variety of species at a local body of water including bass, catfish and crappie, culminating with two days of guided fishing on Sardis Lake with local licensed fishing guides. 

Day camp is our primary fishing camp offering and will largely follow the format of our 2024 camps. Depending on the bite and weather conditions, we will fish primarily at Sardis Lake or Enid Lake. Drop off will be communicated prior to the first day of camp (and adjusted, if necessary, by communication via text). Day camp is run by the CPR and First aid-Certified, Licensed Professional Fishing Guides of Barton Outfitters. We also employ CPR and First Aid certified counselors who are subject to stringent background checks. Campers will receive a hat, fishing rod and fillets of their catch, ready for the table. On poor weather days, we will meet at Lamar Park/Lake Patsy.

All participants will receive a rod/reel combo and hat.

T25 Basketball Camp is an extension of this fellowship and is made up of alumni basketball coaches from this fellowship.

Kermit Davis, Jr. Bio: 
Kermit Davis, Jr., a former head college basketball coach who led six different programs over a 25-year period while amassing just under 500 wins, is one of Mississippi's greatest ambassadors for basketball in the Magnolia state. Davis played and started his coaching career at Mississippi State and finished his career as the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels, where he was named the 2019 SEC Coach of the Year.

Dr. Hunter Taylor Bio: 
Dr. Hunter A. Taylor is an Associate Professor at the University of Mississippi and founder of the Excellence in Coaching Project. The Project’s signature program, Tomorrow’s 25, is currently in year three of existence and has an annual goal of selecting and investing 25 high school and middle school coaches from across the state who have demonstrated a positive, long-term commitment to being a leader for amateur athletics in Mississippi.
