One of the most successful gymnastics organizations in the state will be leading the recreational gymnastics programs for youth here locally in 2026. Bjorn and Shawna Hermansen were approved by the Oxford Park Commission Board of Directors December 10 to lead and facilitate gymnastics operations in the Coach Howell Center.

Following lengthy careers in the United States Armed Services, the couple have owned and operated the Tupelo Gymnastics Center since March of 2013. Tupelo Gymnastics employed a dozen coaches and staff to accommodate 400 clients weekly at the center.

Their original goal of Tupelo Gymnastics was to narrow and eliminate the gap in gymnastics offerings, and continue to develop creative and fun programs for clients. Another big goal that helped Tupelo gain in numbers was to educate clients through instruction, demonstration, and application of customized training routines. The couple believes in creating an environment of trust and respect with clients through patience, attention to detail, and gymnastics knowledge.

Oxford Gymnastics LLC has been created by the couple for the purposes of setting up a partnership with the OPC as it relates to class registrations. Additional information on registrations will be coming in the near future and updates will be provided on all OPC social media platforms.
