The Oxford Park Commission sponsors a youth baseball league for boys age 5-15. Participants must turn 5 years of age on or before April 30th of the current year. This league is affiliated with Dizzy Dean Baseball, Inc.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY DIZZY DEAN NATIONAL COMMISSIONER, Danny Phillips. has banned the use of all composite bats for both local league and tournament play. The complexity of this issue and the uncertainty is the result of this decision. All league officials, parents, and players are encouraged to visit the Dizzy Dean Baseball & Softball web site @ www.dizzydeanbbinc.org for bats that could possibly receive a waiver after scientific data and retesting has been completed. At this time NO bats are listed. This ruling does not include Dizzy Dean Softball.

Team Formation will take place by Friday, March 11. Participants should be contacted by Friday, March 18.
Ages are broken down into the following leagues:
T-Ball
This is an introductory level for 5 & 6 year-olds designed to teach the very basic fundamentals of hitting off a tee, catching, throwing, and running the bases.
Coach Pitch
This league for 7 & 8 year-olds is a follow up to t-ball. However, in this league hitters are required to hit pitches thrown by their coach and not from the tee. Like T-Ball, this league is used as an instructional league for hitting, catching, throwing, and running the bases.
Minors
This league is broken down into two leagues: 9-year-olds and 10-year-olds. This is the participant’s first taste of "real" baseball. This league is the first time batters will face other kids pitching. Teams are drafted based on coaches' ratings during an observation clinic. The action is fast and play is exciting.
Freshman
The 11 & 12 year-old league is one of the most popular in youth baseball. This division is a step up from the Minors Division. Kids can lead off, the pitching distance is greater, and the length between bases is greater. Teams are drafted based on coaches' ratings during an observation clinic.
Sophomore
This is the oldest age group offered by OPC with 13, 14, & 15 year olds playing together. Teams are drafted based on coaches' ratings during an observation clinic. Games are played on a field 250’ in length with 80’ base paths. The speed of the game in this division begins to move much faster as the kids become bigger, faster, and stronger.
All games for youth baseball will be played at FNC Park.
Games are generally played Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.
