Flag Football The Oxford Park Commission co-sponsors a youth flag football program for kids age 6 – 14. This program is a part of the National Football League, Inc. program known as “NFL Flag”. “NFL Flag” is a program played nation wide and is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of the sport of football. Participants must turn at least 6 years of age on or before September 1st of the current year.
Ages are broken down into the following leagues: 6-7 This i s an introductory level league designed to teach the very basic fundamentals of football (throwing, running, catching).8-9 This i s a follow up to the 6-7 league. However, this league is designed to address more individual football skills (route running, passing, handoffs).10-11 The 10-11 league is the most popular age group for OPC. The games are at a faster pace and the skill level of the participants is exciting to watch. 12-14 This i s the oldest league offered by OPC and the most competitive. Games are exciting with lots of scoring.
All games for youth flag football will be played at the OPC Soccer/Softball Complex. Games are generally played Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.
